What is The Pool?

The Pool is an online platform that helps hospitality workers get discovered by employers. You create a profile showing your experience, preferred roles, location, salary expectations, availability and a short introduction video. Verified employers can browse profiles and decide who they would like to contact.

Do I have to pay to join The Pool?

No. It is completely free for candidates to join The Pool. We do not charge candidates to create a profile, appear on the platform or be contacted by employers.

What will employers see on my profile?

Your profile will include information about your work experience, skills, location, salary expectations and availability, as well as your photo and introduction video submitted. Employers may see your profile before ever speaking to you, so please take your photo, information and video seriously and present yourself professionally.

Does joining The Pool guarantee me a job or interview?

No. Being on The Pool gives you another way to be seen by employers, but it does not guarantee that you will receive a call, interview or job offer. Employers choose who they would like to contact based on their hiring needs.

We know that a CV does not always give you the chance to show who you are, especially in hospitality where your personality, communication and how you present yourself can matter. Your Pool profile and introduction video give you another opportunity to position yourself well, show employers what you can bring to a role and make a strong first impression before you meet.

What happens if an employer contacts me?

An employer may contact you directly to discuss a job opportunity or invite you for an interview. Being contacted does not guarantee that the employer will offer you a job. You will still need to attend your interview, present yourself well and show why you are a good fit for the role.

Please take interviews you agree to seriously. If you can no longer attend, let the employer know as early as possible. If an employer reports that you did not attend an agreed interview and did not communicate, this will be noted on your Pool record. Repeated no shows may result in your profile being suspended or removed from The Pool. We generally operate a three strike policy.

We strongly recommend that you ask questions and make sure you fully understand any opportunity before making a decision. This includes confirming the role, salary and benefits, working hours, location, start date and any other important terms directly with the employer.

If you are currently employed, do not resign from your job based only on an initial conversation or interview. Make sure you have received and understood a confirmed job offer and its terms before making any changes to your current employment.

The Pool helps connect you with potential employers, but we do not make employment decisions or guarantee the terms offered by an employer. The decision to accept an opportunity or leave your current job is ultimately yours.

Why do you ask for my NIN?

We use your NIN to help confirm that you are who you say you are. Your NIN is only used for identity verification. It is not displayed on your candidate profile.

What if I get a job or no longer want to be on The Pool?

You can still remain on The Pool even if you are currently employed and would like to be considered for future opportunities. Just let us know if anything changes, such as your employment status, salary expectations, location or availability and we can update your profile.

You can request changes to your profile at any time, and if you no longer want to be on The Pool, simply let us know and we will remove your profile.

Please note that if you choose to leave and would like to rejoin at a later date, your profile might be subject to review again before being added back to The Pool.

Is The Pool an employer?

No. The Pool does not employ you and we are not the company offering you a job. We give verified employers access to discover hospitality workers and contact people they may be interested in hiring. The final decision to interview or hire is made by the employer.

Why do employers have to unlock my contact details?

Your contact details are kept private while employers browse The Pool. If a verified employer is interested in speaking with you, they use one of their paid contact unlocks to access your details and contact you directly. Candidates do not pay to join The Pool or to be contacted by employers.
